Miller IDS played a significant role in giant portraits of women essential workers being posted on walls throughout Austin, Texas. Photographer Sarah Wilson wanted to honor these women and highlight those who risk their lives everyday to keep their community safely operating during a pandemic.
These 20-foot-tall wheat-paste photos can be seen on exterior walls of businesses around the city. MillerIDS printed the photos using their HP PageWide XL in several pieces. Then the photographer trims each one and places them together to create these huge portraits using wallpaper paste. So far, Sarah has posted eight of these portraits and photographed 15 essential workers from healthcare employees to teachers—even an embalmer.
According to Luci Miller, her employee Madison Maurice saw the installation on Channel 7 and alerted her to the broadcast. If you’d like more information, click this link to go to the Fox7 Austin News clip.
